“Non-Summit (Hangul: 비정상회담; RR: Bijeongsanghoedam), also known as Abnormal Summit, is a South Korean television program on JTBC which first aired on July 7, 2014. The show features a panel of non-Korean men, living in South Korea, who debate on various topics and “Korean culture, through the eyes of a foreigner,” in a talk show format, in the Korean language.” — Wikipedia
Abnormal Summit’s format has a panel of 11 men together with the three MCs —Jun Hyun Moo, Yoo Se Yoon, and Sung Si Kyung— and a guest (Korean representative) discuss various topics for 75-85 minutes. The panelists are all non-Korean men representing different countries who live in Korea and are fluent in the language. They all emulate a world leaders summit in talk show format and debate topics such as extreme weather, the country’s infatuation with beauty, employment, etc. The discussion’s tone is not going to be serious all the time. Having a comedians as MCs, they tackle the issues with humor.
It hasn’t been long since I started watching the show, but so far I’ve always had an enjoyable watch. Through the debates, you get an idea on how interesting the cultures and perceptions of different countries differ from each other.
The show is actually quite insightful and entertaining. 🙂
